Do You Have Payment Plans Since If I Need to File for Bankruptcy, I Do Not have A Lot of Money?
Yes. If filing a Chapter 7, you can pay as you are able to pay our fee and the court filing fee. Once all fees are paid, we will have you come in for your second appointment to sign your documents so we can file your case. Therefore, the fee does have to be paid before we file the case, but you do not have to bring the fee for the initial appointment. And our plans are not set in stone. You can set up what works best for your budget. There are some attorneys claiming to file a Chapter 7 for a small amount down but the truth is the rest of their fee is wiped out technically by the bankruptcy since they are a creditor you owed money too prior to filing. They are not going to file your case without being paid in full. We keep our fees extremely reasonable to make it possible to file as quickly as possible.
In a Chapter 13, we only require a small amount up front to file your case, plus the court filing fee, and then we place the remainder of our fee in your Chapter 13 plan.
To find out more about what our fees are and how the Chapter 13 balance works, feel free to call our office for more information.
